Most Memorable Projects
With several hundred successfully completed global TR projects, 2016 was a busy year comprising many high-profile promotions and complete store-fits, as well as several significant permanent-unit projects. Here are our picks for 2016...
Best TR Promotions:
By far the most impressive promotion of the year (almost any year really) was for Diageo's Rum Festival campaign at Hamburg and Frankfurt airports. For this, we created two seriously-ambitious, custom-built, large-scale pirate ships...one of which was later installed at a trendy dance club! CDM's talent with props was shown to best advantage in 2016 with the staghead, leather wing-back chairs, furry rugs and antique furnishings which created a real club feel for Whisky Festival and World of Whiskies promotions.

Best Shop Fits:
The multi-store fit-out at Yangon Airport in Myanmar was particularly signifcant on so many levels: scale, timelines, number of brands represented, a new location and further strengthening of our already extensive Asian supply chain.
Meanwhile In Bangkok, we completed our first top-line Premium store for Lacoste, while the Lacoste store in Phuket marked the first time CDM worked to a design created by the retailer (Kingpower).
CDM took part in several large project launches in 2016, however, our favourite has to be Baileys travel exclusive Baileys XC. With its sophisticated boudoir design, the branding is directed at possibly the most often overlooked segment in the drinks category, women, it's proving a huge success and has become so well embedded in GTR that it's hard to believe it has been on the market for less than a year.
CDM has been proud and honoured to welcome aboard leading brands in the watch, cigars, fragrance, fashion, accessories, travel and drinks sectors while expanding our support services with long-standing clients.
CDM continued to add more pins to our already impressive locations map with the addition of Peru (Lima), Myanmar (Yangon), Puerto Rico, and India to name a few — not to mention all the new terminals (Portugal, Germany, UK, Italy) and new cruise-ship ports and regional hubs in countries already on our map, all added in 2016. New locations means the need for an ever-increasing supply chain, and 2016 has seen unprecedented development in this area, and will stand us in very good stead for 2017 and beyond.
2016 also saw expansion of CDM's complete unique and eco- and sustainability-friendly reverse logistics program, while CDM's inhouse design service is now stronger than ever. In addition, CDM's depth of expertise in pure consulting services is being called upon more and more in the areas of supply chain development, procurement and pure engineering.

A busy and exciting year! Much of the new business won in 2016 will really get going in 2017. So we can expect truly varied projects across quite different sectors.
TRAM project management portal: The bespoke project management portal developed and optimised specifically for CDM, will become an even stronger tool. Already allowing clients unparalleled visibility over all aspects of every project happening anywhere in the world, TRAM will expand to provide client interactivity to allow for direct, online approvals and more.
New business and supply chain development will continue to move forward with a special focus on consolidating our position with existing clients and suppliers as well as new clients and suppliers we've brought on board in 2016. We will also be pushing forward with some very interesting prospects in currently non-represented categories such as financial services and confectionary.
Regional expansions: We expect to see particular growth from Asia and the Middle East as well as with smaller regional airports and brands worldwide.
In short, it's an exciting time for CDM...and we look forward to a seriously excellent year ahead! Happy new year!
